 The Endeavor Police Department was established by a unanimous resolution on October 9, 2007 by the Village of Endeavor Board (then consisting of President Kevin Boodry and Trustees David Baker, Karen Kidrick, Steve Biba, and Jeff Lurvey). Dominic V. Ferraro was appointed as the first Chief of Police by the same resolution.
Establishing a new police department is usually such a daunting and expensive undertaking that most small municipalites would not even consider it. The Village of Endeavor realized that adding police protection to its infrastructure would help the Village grow and would provide its citizens and visitors with the peace of mind they deserve. Now potential future residents, business owners, and developers will know that there investments will be given the personal protection and service that only a local police department can provide.
The Endeavor Police Department would not be in existence today were it not for the generosity and support of the local and surrounding communities. The department had to be built from scratch and was given a very small budget to do so. Most of the equipment necessary for a police department to safely and effectively serve the community was obtained without cost (or at a reduced cost) through many generous donations.
