Questions and Answers...
One of the goals of the EPD is to be as transparent as possible.  If you have a question, concern, complaint, or suggestion, we would love to hear from you!  Of course, certain topics cannot be discussed for privacy and other law enforcement related reasons, but we are willing and able to answer most inquires.  Take a moment to read the FAQs listed below and if your question isn't already answered, send an e-mail to Chief Ferraro (or use the "Contact" page) and he'll personally respond within 48 hours.  Please never make assumptions or trust rumors...Just ask!
  • What is the speed limit in the Village of Endeavor?

    • The speed limit everywhere within the Village limits is 25 mph.  The only exception is during school days/hours when children are present in the school zone (between Prairie Street and Cheney Avenue where the limit drops to 15 mph).

  • What is a ride-along?  How do I participate in the ride-along program?

    • A ride-along is an opportunity for a citizen to essentially shadow a police officer while he/she performs his/her everyday duties.  This program gives residents of the village, future law enforcement officers, other emergency services members, and visitors the opportunity to learn about policing in the Village and law enforcement as a whole.  You'll have an opportunity to ask any questions and voice any concerns you may have during and after the ride-along.  In order to participate you must be at least 18 years old, not a felon, and must fill out a liability release form.  All requests are subject to the approval of the Chief of Police and may be denied for any reason.  To schedule a ride-along simply call or e-mail us today!

  • What is the fine amount for violating a village ordinance?
    • The actual fine for a first offense is only $5.00, however, the costs of prosecution are added to the fine so the amount listed on the citation will be $143.80.  Second and subsequent offenses are $10.00 ($150.10 when added to the costs of prosecution).  Click here to see what the "costs of prosecution" actually are.
  • Does the Village of Endeavor have a curfew?
    • Yes, Chapter 325-8 specifies the curfew as being in effect for anyone 18 years of age or younger between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.  There are exceptions.  Click here to read the ordinance.
